MADIHA HUSSAINI

Administrative Coordinator & Teaching Artist

Madiha is a nonfiction essayist and wellness educator who celebrates her multicultural identity and lifestyle. She holds a bachelors in English from Northeastern Illinois University and an MFA in Nonfiction Creative Writing from Columbia College Chicago.

 

She is an Urdu-Hindi speaking Muslim-born South Asian woman born and raised in Chicago. She currently resides in northwest Indiana with her Catholic-born Polish partner and two rescues: a Husky-Shiba-Inu princess and a Pitbull-Hound anxiety survivor.

 

Her values of empathy, compassion, and long-lasting positive impact influence her work ethic, development and contribution.

What drew you to Olive Tree Arts Network?
There are six religions in my immediate family, so interfaith work suits me well. Every day, I am inspired by the magnitude of talent and dedication reflected in the team of OTAN teaching artists. I am grateful to be able to watch the team develop artistically and as accomplished interfaith educators. I learn something new at every event. My favorite part of OTAN is the spark of magic when two kids find something they have in common with each other.
